Altitude is 1982m.

The mountain itself has been worshiped as a god since ancient times and is counted as one of the seven sacred mountains of Japan.

On clear days, you can see not only the Seto Inland Sea, but also the mountains of the Chugoku and Kyushu regions.
The colorful scenery shown in spring, summer, autumn and winter invites excitement.

The Tsuchigoya Course, which is a climbing route from the Kumakogen-cho side, is recommended for beginners as it has a pier and resting benches that make it easy to climb.

Joins the Jojusha course, which climbs from the Saijo side, at the bottom of the second chain.

Kusari-ba (paths or spots with a chain handrail) are a symbolic presence of climbing Ishizuchi, but if you are not confident in your physical strength, do not overdo it and proceed on the winding road (detour).

Generally, Mt. Misen, where the summit shrine is located, is considered the summit of mountain climbing, but if you walk about 15 minutes from there, you will reach Tengu-dake, the main peak of Mt. to reach.

The steep cliff walk up to Mt. Tengu is for experienced climbers.

Information

Name

Ishizuchi Mountains

Address

Prefectural route 12 ,wakayama, Kumakogen Town, Kamiukena-gun, Ehime Prefecture
(Tsuchigoya parking area)

Contact Us

Kumakogen Town Tourist Association

Phone

0892-21-1192

FAX

URL

https://kuma-kanko.com/spot/spot231/

The highest sacred peak in western Japan It takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes to reach the top by the trail from Tsuchikoya.
